    I would love to see statistics on accidents caused by drivers on their cellphones talking or texting. From personal experience, however, I like the idea of there being a ban on cellphone use while driving.     Keep the smoking sections as long as the stench of cigarette smoke doesn't spill into places where it shouldn't be. If that doesn't work, the restaurant is going to feel the hit in their wallet when customers refuse to sit in a cloud of secondhand smoke.     The plans for the Roanoke City Market Building are sure to be impressive. What disappoints me is that we have to pay this crazy amount of money for some plans. Worse yet, it feels like the local community gets no opportunity for input regarding these plans. Maybe I'm just being a little too wishy-washy, but I think it would be nice if the community

    This recession has made its effects known by greatly impacting the cycle of layoffs and job closings for this time of year. In the past, jobs came back, business picked up and people were hired again. Since the recession undermined the foundation of many businesses, I think job losses right now will be permanent until people have more money to spend
