It's my understanding that the company that rents the red-light cameras to the localities gets a cut of every fine that is collected on top of the rental fee. Ahhhhh....don't you just LOVE capitalism...????

Really, JJ ? You think that the people here are jealous of this? I think we all work pretty darn hard. I know I do and I have plenty of money to spend on "nicer things". But, it's my opinion that what Mr.Vander Maten wants to do with Explore Park isn't a "nicer thing". It's Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Dollywood...oh

I personally believe that Mr. Vander Maten is taking all of us for a big, fat ride ! His plan is unrealistic and not at all suited for this area. He made no mention of the environmental impact this plan will have on the Explore Park area or the areas surrounding it. He says he isn't an accountant and can't really talk about the money aspect

Walker: You say that the City Official who have made this decison are incompetant yet you chose "not to participate". Sounds to me like you are part of the problem and not part of the solution. If you know so much, then get involved in City politics and try to do things your way. Please...don't move to Roanoke County. We have a budget

I shopped at Ukrops when I lived in Richmond, but because their prices are higher, it wasn't my "everyday" store. I like the quality of the produce and the the food in general, especially the seafood. Having a Ukrops in the Roanoke area is a great idea, but...as everyone else has said, the location is just terrible. I live in the SW part
