I grew up in Bedford County and am a lifelong resident of the area. I served three years in the Army, including service during the Cuban crisis, and have a degree in Business Management from Virginia Western. I am married and have one son. We suffered the tragic loss of our daughter to cancer in 2007. I am 66 and a retired managing consultant in the information processing business. I am a Christian and consider my religous and political views to be "compassionate conservative." My interests include music (bluegrass and country), travel, hiking, reading, stock trading, studying history, finance and economics, and working on home and lawn projects.
