Marvin..."But I guess that is just more big government intrusion and control."
Marvin, good morning sir, care to elaborate? Gip
Then Marvin said..."Now, like my wife sometimes does, some would say that considering the tax benefits of contributions takes away the good feeling of helping. I agree that is partly true. But remember that, for a person or family in a 33% tax bracket, giving $15 that is tax deductible cost no more than giving $10 that is not deductible. (And don't forget to consider both federal and state taxes when determining your bracket.) I would rather give that entire $15 to a charity that I believe in than to give them $10 and give the other $5 to the governments (state and federal.) "
Marvin, you're just showing off with all your fancy figures, that I happen to agree with. That is why you have money to consider giving as charity in the first place, if I were guessing. Good on you and such. I was really hoping you would break down the behind the scene puppet master(s?) network that runs big government, big business, big pharma, the media, and why the decision to go to Iraq has really spread around neighboring countries, and will linger until we finally shout "enough" in unison as citizens? But, your answer was good. Time's have changed. We no longer have to fight the old school fight in combat. You can tell one half dozen Navy Seal's and six Ranger's to do a job such as find a guy who's what 6' 13" tall, and probably the one leading the group of shorter guys. I think only film footage remains as reason to be snooping around everyone else's back yard like we own the place. No disrespect to the fine Veteran which I so respect is intended when I state, I hate our young folks killing people somewhere else, then coming home to spend the rest of their days trying to deal with the act of killing a fellow Human. That has to be the ultimate battle wound or scar. When Country calls, what do you do? You go to war like all those before you, and all those to come. Pardon my micro-rant, and your thing on "giving" was spot on, as usual. Gip
PS...sorry E. Duane, I tried the "control + button thing" and got this print, which is worse than normal...Joe C., are you jerking me around again?
PS again...I think it is now normal. The print, not me of course.
PS last time I swear...it's this Clonnie thing, I'm working on it. My wife is very comforting the way she plops the wet towel on my head for relief. I pray often.
