Rumors of school closings in the valley are swirling.  In my opinion these rumors have been started for one purpose and one purpose only.  To RAISE our taxes.  You see, in order to raise our taxes (with as little opposition as possible) there needs to be a CRISIS that warrants the tax hike. 

The crisis needs to be SO large and horrible that we will do ANYthing to avoid it's full catastophic impact.  SEE our current President, who is currently hanging us out to dry with the largest PORK bill (disguised as stimulus) ever.  HIS bill is nothing but SOCIAL Engineering run amok. Hardly anything in it...is expected to produce jobs within the next few years.  Alas, he continues to sound the alarm of FEAR (not HOPE), that there will be a CATASTROPHE (just like they said 3 months ago, look at the good that did us) if we don't act NOW.  He talks about the "failed policies of the past, but he himself needs only to read up on the recent past of the economy of Japan.  He would see that he is setting us up for failure.

Our city is doing the same thing here on a much smaller scale.  They WANT to raise taxes.  They NEED a crisis.  (didn't 0bama's fiend, er uh, friend Rahm Emmanuel say something about needing a crisis?  Look it up) 

Why did the city select the schools they did?  Was it in hopes of a more powerful out-pouring of fear and despair?  Do they think the folks in those areas will be louder in their protests and thus gain more attention for the need to raise taxes?

I say, the people who run our city and school system are idiots.  They can wallow in their "crisis" alone.

I elect NOT to participate.

And if the closures occur... and they want me to send my children to Addison in a few years?  Hello Roanoke County...
