At 20, Brooke Smith had the life she wanted: beauty, boyfriends, a blossoming career styling hair and a bruising hobby as a star on her women's roller derby team. [See the story, videos, photos and more here.]

By 21, she'd been diagnosed with a rare, incurable form of cancer: alveolar soft part sarcoma. Her doctors told her it may not take its final toll for 10 to 15 years.

I admire her for her strength and her faith! She is by far one of the most amazing women that I have ever met! Brookie, we love you, girl! Stay strong!

 Brook, altho we don't live in your state of Va., we have family in that state.  My heart goes out to you!!  What a brave young woman you are.  We (in Ohio) just had a woman who was a TV anchor on our local TV station, who battled *** cancer in 99.  It came back in 2004.  Who let her viewers know of her illness, with incredible strength, faith, who lived each day to the fullest.  I believe you can too.  You've got a hold of life & God.  I hope that this newspaper will keep us informed on how you're doing.  I go to this web site every day.  God Bless you!
