Just curious as to why the RT reporter did not get Carilion's response to the FTC's complaint.

Hi, the initial post did not include a response from Carilion. The RT should include a date/time stamp when they update online articles.

I would like to add my comment to the other from people that can't read.  I feel among friends.

The gov't should get out of the health care business.  Only true competition without regulation will restore sanity to the hospital business.

Is food anymore important than medicine??  I might go years without medical care, but I need food everyday.  But food is no problem.  I can drive down hamburger lane in any town in America and have a great choice of food.  But the gov't has made getting medical care al most important.  And the weaker minded voters in America has made that possible.

Carillion already had imaging facilities at each of their regional and central hospitals, where the prices they charged were much higher.  They purchased the Center for Advanced Imaging simply to dominate care.  Their purchase did nothing to improve the delivery or quality of health care--it simply eliminated a more efficient and less expensive competitor.

This is not exactly what I'd call a shocker.  "Finding better ways" is not a patient care advocating organization, and anyone who buys into their hype is a fool.  They are notorious for suing people strugging to survive for between 15 and 20k per year, so they can get every dime of "lost revenue."  They refer to patients who wind up getting out of network referrals as "leakage."  Carilion and Virginia Tech big wigs should play golf together, they have a lot in common with their mentalities ahd philosophies.

By the way, currently Carilion is squandering MILLIONS setting up a "paperless" health care medical records system...the true purpose of which is to cut down on that out of network "leakage."
