More pro-gun lawmakers are proposing measures that would allow concealed handguns in bars, on school grounds and on college campuses. What do you think about the idea?

 school ground? no. Parents are trusting to hand their kids over to the teachers.

College? well maybe, because these students are not kids. They are adults.  colleges should be allow to set their own policy though.  

Bars? Isn't that what the wild west did? But anyway,  if a resturant owner want to set a policy, they they should allow to do so. It's their bar.

 The reason I'm ok with bars and colleges because women do need to defend themselves from Rape, and yet it is not really fair that they have to stay home to prevent rape.

 I'm pretty up on these pro-gun lawmakers...and I haven't seen/heard of ANY who want guns allowed in bars.  I don't believe guns should be allowed where alcohol is served, personally.  The others...I have NO problem with. 

What do the anti-gun lobby and lawmakers have to say about people who don't obey LAWS?  They are the ones we need to worry about right?  Not law-abiding gun owners.

Law abiding citizens should be allowed a carry guns anywere they want.

If people would bring their guns to church there might not be incidents like the one recenlty at that Baptist church in Illinois.

 he should perfectly normal to me.. One church did have a gun and guess what, she saved many life.

 The reason I asked him (Roenoke) that is...it didn't sound like something he would normally say.  It sounded, dare I say, conservative.  I happen to agree with it also.  An armed public makes a more polite public, they like to say.

I've always been in favor of gun owners rights...I own guns...its a Right insured by the Constitution...I guess were we differ is in how people can obtain/purchase them and who can get them...You know if we need to rally the milltia one day it needs to be well regulated.

 I agree in part...but if we need to "rally the militia"...I sure as hell don't want the federal government knowing about my guns...thats for damn sure.

Look what happened in New Orleans with Katrina.  Who's guns did the government go and take out of people's hands?  The law-abiding citizens who'd registered them. 

There do need to be rules on WHO can get a gun.  But, I don't like all the lists that go along with it.

Whats wrong with a list?

How are we gonna rally the militia if don't know who has the guns?

How do you think we can contact the other members of the militia if we don't have a phone tree. Take out ads in the paper? billboards? a loudspeaker call to fight?

How do we know if its a real militia call to arms and not just the governement getting us together to take our guns?

They might be reading this forum and know that we have guns? Do you think they will put us on thier list?

Can we still be in the militia if we're on the governement list?

 Don't worry Roenoke, the people that need to know...know. 

It's interesting the right to bear arms was written mainly so that "the people" could prevent a monarchy/dictator, or God forbid, to overthrow said monarchy.  These guys were pretty smart. 

Good thing we don't have to worry about any of that.
